Workspace-based plans

Simple plans for preserving family history without surprises.

ArbolKin combines a limited free plan, paid plans for active families, clear storage, and limits that protect family work without turning every viewer into a purchase decision.

Designed for families that grow with order

Plans connect permissions, storage, and family workspace limits so a family can start small and expand capacity when needed.

Viewers are free to avoid family invitation friction

Owners, admins, and editors count as billable members

Workspace storage and limits are validated with server-side rules

Plan structure

Free to start, paid when the family grows.

How billing works

The family workspace controls payment, not every visitor.

The workspace owner would be responsible for the subscription. The family can invite viewers without turning every relative into a purchase decision.

Billable members

Owners, admins, and editors count because they can manage, change, or upload content. Viewers do not count as billable members.

Included storage

Each plan includes a media quota. Near the limit, the product should warn before blocking uploads or suggesting an upgrade.

Cancellation and changes

If a family downgrades, it keeps read access while resolving member, tree, or storage limits before creating more content.

What each family receives

The limits are intentional: they protect infrastructure costs without punishing invitations for relatives who only want to view or comment.

Cost model

Prices cover the costs that actually grow.

The structure avoids promising unlimited storage. Before charging, each limit must map to infrastructure, support, and sustainable margin.

Supabase

Database, authentication, private storage, signed URLs, backups, and growth by active families.

Vercel

Hosting, serverless functions, bandwidth, previews, and performance for public pages and the app.

Email and Stripe

Invitations, magic links, digests, checkout, customer portal, payment fees, and retry flows.

Monitoring and support

Sentry, alerts, error investigation, documentation, and human support for non-technical families.

Media

Photos, documents, videos, thumbnails, downloads, possible processing, and egress when memories are viewed.

Free plan

The free plan needs clear limits so families can try the product without creating unlimited cost.

Plan management

The owner controls the family workspace plan

Billing belongs to the family workspace. Permissions, limits, and plan changes are managed centrally so every relative has clear access based on their role.

Questions

Pricing and billing questions

These answers explain how plans work for family workspaces.

Who pays?

The family workspace owner manages the workspace subscription. Each relative does not need to manage a separate bill.

Do viewers cost money?

No. We do not want inviting grandparents, cousins, or relatives who only browse to become a barrier.

What happens if storage is exceeded?

The product should warn before the limit, block new uploads if necessary, and offer an upgrade or file cleanup.

What happens on cancellation?

The family should keep reasonable read and export access during a grace period, but not create content beyond the active plan.

Can prices change?

Yes. If prices change, they will be communicated before changes apply to an existing subscription.

Family history needs a sustainable model.

ArbolKin is designed so the product can grow without relying on unlimited storage, improvised support, or confusing billing rules.
